Your answers to the assessment are scored in your browser, and your individual answers are not sent to us. The assessment then suggests a profile and a starting route. The web address of your result page includes your profile type, your suggested route and whether the consulting suggestion applies, so our website platform receives that address when the page loads, as it does for any page you open. While your browser tab is open, it also keeps these values so the result pages show the right content (see our cookie notice).
If you ask us to email your full profile, we collect your first name, email address, your goal (buying, sourcing or both) and your profile result.
We collect the route you are interested in, your background and what you want to achieve, when you would like to start, where you are in your search, the kind of business or the sectors and networks you have in mind, whether you have introduced a deal before, the help you want, the range of your own capital you could put towards an acquisition, whether you are willing to invest in paid support, and your name, email address and (optionally) phone number.
We keep the emails and messages you send us and our replies.
When you submit a form, our website platform records the date and time, the page you used, the page that referred you and your approximate country (worked out from your IP address). Our platform and its service providers also receive your IP address and browser details as part of normal web requests. Our platform’s error monitoring service (Sentry) receives technical information each time a page loads and, if an error occurs, details of the error, including the page address. Systeme has told us that, when an error occurs, an error report can include technical diagnostic information, details of the browser and device environment, content submitted through a form at that moment, and diagnostic messages logged just before the error, but not your IP address or cookies.
Our website platform also sets a statistics cookie called “v” on your device when you open a page. See our cookie notice.
We do not ask for special category information (for example health, religion or ethnicity). Please do not include it in free-text answers.
We send only the emails you ask for (your profile) and emails about your application. We do not send marketing emails.
Emails sent through our website platform, including the profile email, contain a small tracking image and tracked links. This lets our platform record when an email is opened (if your email program loads images) and which links are clicked.
We use these service providers to run the website and our communications. They process your information on our behalf.
We may also share information with professional advisers, or where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
Opulentia Capital LLC is a US company, and your information may be processed outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States.
“Contact” means an email, call or meeting between you and us. Automated emails do not count. These periods include copies in our mailbox.
We review our records once a month and delete those that have reached the end of their period. When we delete a record from our website platform, Systeme removes it permanently within 30 days, and it may remain in Systeme’s backups for up to a further 30 days.
If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will do so unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation or to deal with a claim.
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, object to our use of it based on legitimate interests, and ask for a portable copy. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. These rights apply subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable data protection law. Email ben@buyabusinesswithben.com. We will normally respond within one month.
You can also complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work, or where you think a problem occurred. For example, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK and the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos in Spain. You do not have to contact us before making a complaint, although we would welcome the opportunity to address your concern.
Access to application records and to our ben@buyabusinesswithben.com mailbox is currently limited to Ben Seabridge.
We will update this page if our practices change. Last updated: 15 October 2026.
